COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT COMMITTEE
The Steering Committee is the lead citizen participation group in the planning and programming process of the CDBG program. The Steering Committee is involved in the entire CDBG and consolidated planning process. Three members must represent low and moderate-income areas and one member is a citywide representative. The other five members consist of the Housing Commission members. Its specific responsibilities are:
- To advise the City Administration and the City Council in the development of the Consolidated Plan and its related programs.
- To conduct public meetings on the development of the Plan and its programs, and to review and evaluate proposals from the community based organizations.
- To assist the City Council in conducting public hearings on the Plan and its programs.
CGBG committee meets as needed at 9:00 a.m., on the second Thursday of the month at the City Hall in Conference Room C.
