REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY
Pursuant to California Community Redevelopment Law (California Health and Safety Code section 33000 et seq.), the Cupertino Redevelopment Agency proposes to eliminate blighting conditions and facilitate and assist the expansion, renovation, and revitalization of the Vallco Fashion Park shopping center through adoption and implementation of the Cupertino Vallco Redevelopment Plan. Implementation of the redevelopment plan is proposed to include coordinated actions by the property owners and the Redevelopment Agency to expand, refurbish, and revitalize the shopping center and its immediate environs - i.e., the "project area." The proposed redevelopment project encompasses three blocks in central Cupertino, which include the Vallco shopping center and the adjacent Rose Bowl site. The Redevelopment Agency's assistance activities would be funded by tax increment revenue from the project area. As required by California Community Redevelopment Law, a portion of the project areas tax increment revenue would also be allocated to the provision of affordable housing.
