    Status:
  • The project was reviewed by Planning Commission on November 13, 2007, January 8, 2008, and March 25, 2008.
  • The applicant hosted three neighborhood meeting on July 11. 2007, November 8, 2007, and December 13, 2007.
  • The City Council considered this project on April 1, 2008 and April 15, 2008. The Council adopted the mitigated negative declaration and approved the project, including but not limited to the following key conditions:
    • - Eliminate pedestrian or vehicular access along Linnet Lane.
      - Enhance the refuse and recycling facilities.
      - Enhance the center’s security patrol and maintenance program.
      - Require a landscaping improvement/maintenance bond.
      - Implement a construction management plan (establish a complaint hotline).
      - Limit the Homestead Road driveway to allow only right-in and right-out and a sheltered left vehicular movements.
      - Provide at least 855 physical parking spaces on the ground (not including the extra stalls gained at the church).
      - Implement a transportation demand management plan.
      - Kimco shall work with staff to refine the final parking plan and obtain Fire and Public Works Department approval prior to issuance of building permits.
      - With the concurrence of the church board, Kimco shall restripe the church parking lot to gain extra stalls for the church.
      - Council reserves the right to require applicant/property owner to provide valet parking if needed.
      - Provide a one-way right-turn only egress driveway immediately north of the Duke of Edinburgh along the Wolfe Road shopping center frontage.

  • New lease approved for Yogurtland (frozen self serve yogurt store)
  • New lease approved by the Evershine Group for a new Japanese Supermarket Marukai and Daiso (Japan's No.1 ranking “livingware” supplier) at the former Long’s space. This will be the first South Bay location for both retailers.
  • Marukai and Daiso, and Yogurtland have been allowed to proceed subsequent to City Council decision on January 8, 2008 defining food preparation limitations. Demolition plans have been approved.
  • Marukai and Daiso’s building plans are currently under review and construction estimated to begin in the 2nd quarter of quarter of 2008.
  • Yogurtland is now open.
