The Planning Division provides efficient and responsive professional planning services to the community and implements city development policies, programs, and regulations.
General Plan
The General Plan is a comprehensive, long-term plan for the physical development of the community. It represents the City's determination of the amount, type and timing of development needed to achieve the City's social, economic and environmental goals. The General Plan is updated every 10 years with the participation of all City departments, service agencies and the community at large.

The Wireless Master Plan is a facilities plan for the location, siting and design of cellular antenna facilities throughout the city. The plan also discusses the technology and addresses safety concerns.

R1 Single-Family Residential Ordinance (5.4 MB)
The R1 Ordinance covers the regulations for single family development in the City of Cupertino. The ordinance outlines the maximum area allowed, setback and second story regulations. The R1 Ordinance also contains privacy protection regulations to protect private yards from visual intrusion by new two-story development.
RHS Residential Hillside Ordinance (960 KB)
The RHS Ordinance regulates single family residential development in the hillside zones.

Heart of the City Specific Plan (10.8 MB)
The Heart of the City Specific Plan provides specific development guidance for one of the most important commercial corridors in the City of Cupertino, for the purpose of creating a greater sense of place and community identity in Cupertino.
