NORTH VALLCO MASTER PLAN
Cupertino has embarked on a master plan for the
North Vallco area. The City Council and Planning
Commission initiated this process to proactively
address proposed changes in the area with the
new Apple campus and possible conversion of some
industrial sites to residential uses.
Community Workshops
Three Community Workshops were held to inform residents and other interested parties about the planning process and to seek ideas and visions for the future of the
North Vallco area. The workshop subjects and dates were:
Finalize Conceptual Master Plan, April 2, 2007
Broad Brush Urban Design Concepts, March 8, 2007
Existing Conditions, Opportunities and Constraints, January 25, 2007,
Webcast of each of these meeting can be viewed by visiting our Planning Commission meetings archives and clicking on the date of the meeting that you want to access.
Location
The North Vallco planning area is the 240-acre area bounded by Homestead Road, Tantau Avenue, I-280 and Wolfe Road. It
includes the 100-acre Hewlett Packard
campus, 50 acres acquired by Apple Computer
for a future second campus, Cupertino Village shopping
center, hotel, residential and office developments.

The Process
A 20-person Study Committee, including property owners,
residents, school and business representatives, was convened
by the City Council to oversee the study and make recommendations
to the City Council and Planning Commission. The Study Committee hosted the three workshops, and held four meetings for their own discussions and formulation of recommendations. Their recommendations will be presented to the Planning Commission on Tuesday, October 9 and City Council on November 5.
The Draft Report on the North Vallco Master Plan, as recommended by the Study Committee, will be presented to the Planning Commission and City Council
