CUPERTINO TRAFFIC DATA
Staff annually collects traffic data for streets and intersections for the City. We also collect data from Caltrans for segments of Interstate Route 280 and State Route 85 freeways.
Staff uses the intersection traffic counts to analyze the operation of the intersection for level of service. We submit our findings tothe City Planning Commission and to the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority.
The Average Daily Traffic(ADT) volumes figure for 2000 reflects average daily traffic counts on arterials, major collectors, and minor collectors in the City. It also includes segments of the Interstate Route 280 and State Route 85 freeways.

Santa Clara County has established a Congestion Management Program Roadway(CMP) under the oversight of the Santa Clara Transportation Authority.
A CMP contains 9 elements:
System Definition element.
Traffic Level of Service Standard element.
Multimodel Performance Measures element.
Trip Reduction and Transportation Demand Management element.
Countywide Transportation Model and Database element.
Land-Use Impact Analysis Program element.
Capital Improvement Program element.
Annual Monitoring and Conforming element.
Deficiency Plan Element.
The City annually monitors and submits a report of the Level of Service (LOS) for both AM and PM on CMP roadway intersection networks. We require developers to prepare a transportation impact analysis (TIA) for projects that generate100 or more peak hour trips according to TIA guidelines. We also prepare and submit land-use monitoring data on all land use projects.
In the City the CMP roadway network consists of principal arterials and CMP roadway network intersections. Our principal arterials are De Anza Boulevard, Stevens Creek Boulevard, and Wolfe Road. We have 15 CMP intersections in the City.
