CUPERTINO GREEN RESOURCES
Solar Community Program
With the cost of electricity rising every year, rebates decreasing, and the federal tax credit potentially going away by 2009, homeowners are able to participate in the Cool Cities Cupertino partnership with REC Solar and take advantage the community discounts that are available for a limited time. Solar electricity is good for the environment, reduces energy bills, and lowers homeowners cost of power forever.
There will be a series of educational seminars about the solar
community program and Cool Cities Cupertino discounts with REC Solar and Sun
Run. The meeting schedule is:
Date & Time: Tuesday, August 26, 7 pm
Venue: Cupertino Community Center, 10350 Torre Avenue, Cupertino
Log on to www.solarcupertino.com to RSVP online, or call REC Solar at 888.OK.SOLAR (888.657.6527) for more information. In-home solar consultation is also available by calling the listed toll free number.
Green Business Program
The City of Cupertino has been certified as a Green Business for two years in a row. This program, coordinated by ABAG, is a partnership of environmental agencies that assists, recognizes and promotes business and government agencies who operate in a more environmentally responsible way. The key goals of the program are to promote resources conservation and pollution prevention.
The City of Cupertino takes its certification seriously and ask our employees to follow our Green Business Commitments and do the right thing for our environment everyday, while at work. We invite you and your family to join us in our efforts to protect the environment and encourage these and similar practices to become a part of all of our lives while at work and at home.
