DESCRIPTION OF WORK
Work generally consists of the contruction of a 500-foot long by 16.3-foot wide bicycle footbridge with an AISC certified structural steel girder and beam superstructure and a 13.5 foot wide pre-cast concrete panel deck, supported by 44 structural strand stay cables, suspended from two 90-foot structural steel towers with a clear span of 325 feet over the intersate 280 at Mary Avenue. The bridge consist of approximately 258,000 lbs of steel in the towers and 214,000 lbs of steel in the superstructure .

The foundations consist of twelve 3.0-foot diameter CIDH piles with concrete footings/pile caps.The bridge shall be erected using temporary support (falsework), in accordance with Section 51 of the Caltrans Std. Specifications.

The project has approximately 12 acres of native landscaping, soundwall reconstruction, and approximately 2,000 feet of AC paved bicycle and pedestrian trail, with bridge and trail lighting.
