With a new 16-screen AMC Movie Theater, and Strike Bowling weeks away from opening, Cupertino Square (formerly Vallco Mall) is enjoying a resurgence of energy and activity. Click on the image for a full summary. |
Whole Foods Market will be opening a new 63,000 square foot store in August at Stevens Creek Boulevard between Saich and Stelling. This will be the largest Whole Foods in the Western United States.
This summer is also the targeted opening for Cupertino Bakery on De Anza.
Japanese Supermarket Marukai is teaming up with Daiso, Japan's No.1 ranking “livingware” supplier at Cupertino Market Place. This will be the first South Bay location for both retailers.
Save Mart will be taking over the Albertson's store at 10425 S. De Anza Blvd. The Modesto-based grocery chain acquired 130 Albertsons stores in Northern California in February.
California Pizza Kitchen and Islands restaurants are in design for Cupertino Square at the corner of Wolf and Stevens Creek. |

And more space is on the way…
A new 10,000 sf retail space at the NE corner of Stevens Creek and Tantau was recently recommended for approval by the Planning Commission. It is tentatively scheduled for review by the City Council on August 27th.
Cupertino Village on Wolfe Road is planning for an additional 24,455 square feet along with increased parking.
Market Place on Stevens Creek will be adding 15,300 sf with a new 2-story building to be anchored by China Trust Bank.
At the Oaks, a new hotel and retail/office/banquet building is in the planning and design phase. |

Tenny Tsai and Allison Koo sealed the deal with Marukai and Daiso at Cupertino Market Place.
Office:
Silicon Navigator, a provider of electronic design custom software, has leased 6,357 sf at 10050 N. Wolfe from Menlo Equities. The landlord was represented by Erik Hallgrimson, Brandon Bain, and Maryanna McSwain from CPS. Peter Hamann from Cresa represented the tenant. |

- The 224-Cypress Hotel was recently purchased by SCS Advisors in partnership with Rockpoint Group. Former owner Kimpton Hotel Group will retain management of this 4-star boutique hotel. (Source: Hotel Interactive)
- Apple’s long-anticipated I-Phone hit the market on June 29.
- Cupertino’s Vocera, the only wearable, hands-free, instant communication system on the market, recently celebrated the shipping of its 100,000 th Vocera badge. (Source: Biz Wire)
- On March 31 st, “STAR Awards” (Service, Teamwork & Achievements Recognition) were presented by the Cupertino Chamber of Commerce to Alotta’s Deli and Catering (small business winner) and Stevens Creek Quarry (large business winner).

The 2007 USA Water Polo National Junior Olympics will be hosted by Cupertino July 28 through August 5. Over 300 teams will participate, bringing over 5,000 people to the area, and approximately $1 million in revenues.
From Bands to The Bard, there are many opportunities to enjoy Cupertino’s beautiful Memorial Park this summer.
Enjoy outdoor concerts from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Memorial Park Amphitheater -- July 5, 12, and 26.
A Midsummer Night’s Dream will be presented by the San Francisco Shakespeare Festival on July 21, 22, 27, 28, 29 and August 3, 4, 5.
Cinema at Sundown, Cupertino's 6th annual free outdoor film series begins at 8:15 p.m. on August 9th with "Akeelah and the Bee". You can see Charlotte's Web on August 16th, and Grease on August 23rd.
