Whole Foods: 68,000 sf Now Open Transactions - Congrats Dealmakers

  • De Anza Plaza at 1001 Stevens Creek Boulevard has sold to Four Corners. Cornish and Carey provided consulting services.
  • Business software and service provider Consona has leased 4,281 sf at Stevens Creek Boulevard. Patty Steele and Anne Ralston of Cornish and Carey represented the landlord, and Steve Clark of The Staubach Company represented the tenant.
  • Also credit Anne Ralston for bringing Technology Credit Union to 10051 S. De Anza Boulevard.
  • Curry House has signed a lease for Civic Park on DeAnza Boulevard. Todd Oliver of Terranomics, Tenny Tsai and Allison Koo of BT Commercial are credited with the deal.
  • Across the street, landlord Bob Allario has signed Regus, a provider of drop-in office space, at the Allario Center at 10297 S. De Anza Boulevard.
  • At the Metropolitan (19501 Stevens Creek Boulevard), Vu & Baotram Truong have signed a lease for Visique a high end designer optical store. John Machado inked the deal.
  • AverQ has leased 1,463 sf at 20065 Stevens Creek Boulevard. Robin Santiago and Derek Yep of Wayne Mascia represented the tenant, and Julie Mercik of Ritchie Commercial represented the landlord.
  • Investment firm Silver Lake Technology Management, represented by Howard Dellmar of Cornish & Carey, has leased 8,579 sf at 10080 N. Wolfe Rd. from Menlo Equities, represented by Maryanna McSwain, Erik Hallgrimson, and Brandon Bain of CPS.
  • Cupertino Square has new ownership. Three "out-parcels", including the Rose Bowl site, have been sold to the Evershine Group. Orbit Resources (a global investment firm) now holds primary ownership of the mall property.

    Whole Foods opened their largest store west of Texas in Cupertino on August 22, 2007. From the culinary center, to the in-store bistro, this is no ordinary market.

    Several Cupertino businesses are undergoing significant improvements to refresh their successful stores, including Benihana and T.G.I. Fridays at Cupertino Square, and Marina Foods, who is adding a new and improved noodle bar within the store.

    • The semiconductor test company Verigy reported a 3rd quarter profit more than double from last year at $30 million or 50 cents a share. (Source: San Jose Business Journal)
    • The third Quarter report from CB Richard Ellis shows a robust market in Cupertino. Office vacancy is at 2% with an average leasing rate of $3.40 for Class A space. R&D space has a vacancy rate of 2.6%.

    Cupertino boasts several popular recreational amenities including Rancho San Antonio and Fremont Older open space preserves. Just how popular are they? The Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District has released results from a new survey that shows estimated attendance for the two facilities at over 700,000 annually.
