Permit parking can be restrictive to neighborhood parking. A petition prepared by the city must be circulated among the residents of property on the street. At least 2/3 of the neighborhood must be in agreement. The permit parking study fee of $880 shall be collected from the requesting party. The permit fee is $45 per household for every two year period. After signatures are verified and the fees is collected, the request goes to city council for approval. Once approved a letter requesting vehicle information is sent to each resident, this must be returned. Permits will be issued for each vehicle registered on the street along with 2 guest permits. Signs will then be installed.

How do I receive a rebate for the installation of an Ultra Low Flush Toilet?
As an incentive to conserve water, the Santa Clara Valley Water District and water retailers in the area are sponsoring a rebate program for customers who replace existing toilets with ultra-low flow toilets of 1.6 gallons or less. Up to $75 per toilet purchase may be refunded, with a limit of three per household.
The installation of Ultra-Low Flow toilets is required by California law in all new construction. Therefore, these toilets are not eligible for rebates.
Residents who receive water from San Jose Water Co. (408) 279-7900, or California Water Co., (650) 917-0152, should contact those companies for applications. You will be required to submit the original receipt and the label off the box.

Contact Public Works Department for information at (408) 777-3354.
How can I get speed bumps on my street?
The first step is to submit a petition prepared by the city. Staff will evaluate the street for grade and geometrics, for example. If the preliminary criteria is met a speed survey will be scheduled for the street . If speeding has been determined, and enforcement has not reduced the problem, speed bumps may offer a solution. Typically the speed bumps are installed during the summer months to insure a strong adhesive bond with the roadway surface.
