Part-Time Temporary Non-Benefited Position
The City of Cupertino Parks and Recreation Department has openings in the following: Recreation Specialist- Parks and Recreation Office Front Desk.
POSITION: Recreation Specialist: Approximate hours per week: 10-20 hours
SALARY RANGE: $10.00 - $12.00 per hour
DEFINITION: Under limited supervision, receives, and accounts for money paid for programs and facilities; performs various clerical duties; performs various facility management duties; opens and closes facility when used; provides simple facility room set-up; provides informational and directional assistance to customers; performs other related work as required. Hours will include evenings and weekends.
JOB DESCRIPTION: Recreation Specialists will accept money from customers paying for admission to recreation programs, fees for department activities and facilities; issue paid receipt forms; prepare simple reports; operate telephone system, fax machine, and copy machine; does filing of paperwork; answer questions and complaints from customers and refers them to appropriate staff; unlocks doors prior to scheduled activities, and provide assistance and direct customers to activity areas. Recreation Specialists may also be responsible for room set-ups and assisting with various special events. May also perform related work as required.
QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and have, or have the ability to get a Class C California driver’s license. Computer experience desirable. Must be CPR and First Aid certified within the first six months of employment.
