Inspections are required for all permits that are issued. The type and number of inspections required depends on the type of work that is being done. Please read our Inspection Procedures for Residential Structures or contact the Building Division at building@cupertino.org or call (408) 777-3228 for information.

Schedule a Building Inspection

Schedule your building inspection by calling (408) 777-3228.

You may request a courtesy inspection using the Courtesy Inspection Request Form.

Building Inspection Hours:

M: 7:30-11:30, 12:30-4:00
T: 9:00-11:30, 12:30-4:00
W: 7:30-11:30, 12:30-4:00
Th: 7:30-11:30, 12:30-4:00
F: 7:30-11:30, 12:30-3:00

When calling for an inspection, you will need to provide the permit number, address, type of inspection, desired date of inspection, and contact name and phone number.

In order to schedule a next day inspection, you must call (408) 777-3228 before 3:30pm from Monday through Thursday or before 2:30pm on Friday.

For example, if today is Monday and I want an inspection tomorrow, I have to call (408) 777-3228 before 3:30pm on Monday to ensure I will get an inspection on Tuesday.

Call before 2:30pm on Friday to schedule an inspection on the following Monday. 

You must call (408) 777-3228 at 7:00am on the day of your inspection to find out the two-hour time window for your inspection.

Special Inspections

Statement of Special Inspection Form

Certain types of projects and construction methods require special inspections to be completed by a special inspection agency. Any required special inspections will be noted on the permit and plans. Refer to the Recognized Special Inspection Agency List for special inspectors.
