Increased Truck Traffic at Stevens Creek & Foothill Boulevards

Post Date:11/27/2018

In October, Stevens Creek Quarry (located at 12100 Stevens Canyon Road) began running several large trucks to and from Lehigh Permanente Quarry (located at 24001 Stevens Creek Boulevard). The trucks are running from approximately 6:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday – Friday (except holidays). It is anticipated that these trucks will haul materials from Lehigh Permanente Quarry to Stevens Creek Quarry for up to six months.

Several complaints have been received due to the truck traffic. Complaints include increased dust, increased noise, intermittent blocking of through traffic and illegal turning movements made by the trucks. In response to these concerns, the City has requested that Stevens Creek Quarry sweep the intersection four times per day and to space out the trucks so that through traffic is not impended. The City has also requested that the Sheriff frequently monitor the intersection and issue citations to truck drivers that impede traffic and/or conduct illegal turns.
