Rajeswari Mahalingam

A Cupertino resident for over 18 years, Rajeswari (Raji) Mahalingam serves as the 2019 Chair of the Fine Arts Commission. Over her seven years as a commissioner, she was instrumental in initiating Cupertino’s Young Artist award and public art catalog. She has judged art events such as Happy Kids Day, Fremont Union School District Talent program, Reflections of PTA, and utility box art competition. 

Raji is a trained Bharatanatyam dancer (South Indian Classical Dance) who has performed in various dance productions in India as well as in the Bay Area for several non-profit organizations such as Xpressions, Sanhiti, Aram Sei, Vibha, OSAAT, and SF Ethnic Dance Festival.

Raji holds a master of science degree in computer science from Bharathidasan University, India and a bachelor of science degree in physics from Madras University, India with honors. She is an entrepreneur and has co-founded an educational technology company ACarrot Inc. which aims at motivating students to ask questions through their product called Qalaxia.

Raji loves to spend quality time with her husband, daughter and friends.
