Parks Davis
Helene Davis

Helene Davis grew up in Cupertino and attended local schools - Regnart, Kennedy, Monta Vista and De Anza College. She has a degree in Economics from UC Davis.

Helene began her community involvement with PTA and AYSO, and worked as a substitute teacher in the Cupertino Union School District.

In addition to the Parks and Recreation Commission, Helene is a board member of the Cupertino Historical Society, President of the Rotary Club of Cupertino, and President of the Cupertino Copertino Sister Cities Association. She received the City of Cupertino CREST award in 2012 and the Cupertino Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year STAR Award in 2014.

During her free time she likes to hike, bike, read, travel, and learn about all things historical. She feels Cupertino is special because of the people, and the partnerships between organizations in the community. She is proud to be an active contributor to this vibrant place we call Cupertino.

Stanek Parks
Carol Stanek

Carol Stanek has been a Parks and Recreation Commissioner since 2015. She served as Commission Chair in 2016. Carol was recognized as the Volunteer of the Year in 2010 by the Friends of Stevens Creek Trail for her successful advocacy to improve neighborhood access to the Stevens Creek Trail and Blackberry Farm.

Carol is an active Block Leader and enthusiastically supports Cupertino’s cultural and neighborhood events. During the summer you can often find her dancing at Cupertino’s outdoor summer concerts or taking in Shakespeare at Memorial Park. Carol initiated the first ever Flash Mob at Memorial Park, bringing together community members to enjoy music, dance and the outdoors.

Carol has lived in Cupertino since 1984 and with her husband, Mike, raised two daughters here. Carol has a bachelor’s degree from UC Berkeley and an MBA from Stanford University.  She has recently retired from a career in financial systems management.
