Thursday, 1:15-3:15 p.m. 

Learn about beading tools, different types of beading wires, threads and cords, and assorted beads. Practice learned techniques by creating assorted earrings, necklaces, and bracelets. A supply list will be provided and discussed on the first day of class. Instructor: Deborah Hall.

Chinese Brush Painting

Monday,  8:30-10 a.m.; 10:10-11:40 a.m.

Wednesday, 6:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m.

Learn the art of brush painting. The instructor will teach the “Impressionistic style,” which is easier to master. She will start with basic strokes to draw orchids, and then gradually introduce other components, such as flower pot, insects, bamboo, minnow, etc. Learn at your own pace. Thursday, 3:15-5:15 p.m. 

Kumihimo is a Japanese form of braid-making. Cords and ribbons are made by interlacing strands. Kumihimo is Japanese for "gathered threads". In this class you will make custom jewelry using the kumihimo technique. Instructor: Deborah Hall.

Chinese Painting with May Shei

Thursday, 5:30-8:00 p.m.

Explore abstract and realistic Chinese ink art by combining Western and Eastern techniques on rice paper and other materials. Subjects will include landscapes, flowers & birds, figures, splash ink, etc. Open to all levels: students will learn the technique of the basic outline, brush stroke and building up layers of color step by step from teacher demos.
